Born from a shared passion for architecture, design, real estate, and a deep love of detail, Luc Jousselin and Maxime Bongard founded Dot in 2022.

With international training in France, Switzerland, Denmark, and Canada, and experience gained in some of the most prestigious Canadian and European architecture firms, the studio strives for excellence in every realization.

Over the years, the partners have developed solid expertise spanning the entire process from design to construction. Their experience now extends across both public and private markets, in sectors including residential, commercial, institutional, cultural, educational, sports and leisure facilities, and transportation infrastructure. Today, the studio specializes in residential, corporate, and commercial environments, contributing with passion to shaping the architectural landscape of Québec.

Our team brings together multidisciplinary talents, Architects, Landscape Architects, Urban Design, Designers and Technologists, combining the energy of emerging professionals with the experience and expertise of senior collaborators.

Our studio, rooted in the human scale, is located in the Rosemont neighborhood of Montreal, on vibrant Rue Saint-Hubert, just steps away from public transit. Designed as a space for dialogue and exploration, it cultivates a culture of creative freedom, critical thinking, and exchange. Our areas of expertise cover the entire project delivery process.We begin with development studies aimed at assessing feasibility, structuring budgets, and informing strategic decisions. We then handle the architectural design and overall design of projects, from the sketch phase through to the delivery of the finished building.

Our team works on projects of all scales for a diverse clientele: private residences and family homes, commercial spaces, wellness projects, corporate developments, multi-residential complexes, eco-neighborhoods, and master plans. Trained in Canada and Europe, notably in France, Switzerland, and Denmark, the Dot architecture team develops a practice deeply rooted in sustainable architecture and constructive intelligence.

We prioritize bio-based materials, renewable resources, and low-impact solutions, making materiality a fundamental starting point for every project. Designing from available resources is, for us, an engaged act. This approach promotes environmental preservation, carbon footprint reduction, and a sensitive reconnection between built form and context. We pay particular attention to understanding the materials we use and develop combinatorial construction systems based on natural materials such as wood, stone, earth, and plant fibers.

Our methodology is supported by proven constructive expertise, nourished by research, experimentation, and on-site experience. Each project becomes a learning ground to refine sustainable techniques while anticipating the aging of buildings, through rigorous attention to detail, execution, and craftsmanship.

Over time, we have developed deep expertise in numerous sustainable materials and techniques, including mass timber and CLT, raw earth (BTC, rammed earth, earth-straw), hemp, wood fiber, cellulose insulation, natural plasters, vernacular techniques, shou sugi ban, and innovative solutions such as cellular glass aggregates.

Our thinking also embraces a broader vision of the built environment, inspired by best practices in architectural and urban renewal, adaptive reuse, and program transformation. Trained in LEED, WELL, and Passivhaus standards, we master contemporary challenges related to energy performance, comfort, health, and durability, enabling us to design spaces that are efficient, luminous, resilient, and deeply human.
