These paths wrap around the service areas, gradually revealing the living and sleeping spaces within a fluid composition. Slightly elevated, the building lightens its footprint and engages in a dialogue with the natural ground.
This elevated base, combined with a standing seam metal roof with controlled slopes, incorporates wall gutters that create delicate frozen cascades in winter.
The ensemble responds to climatic constraints while asserting a distinct northern identity. Its material palette of wood, stone and steel is both restrained and refined, complemented by a Japanese-inspired sensibility imbued with calm and poetic expression.
