Conceived as a place of memory, this family home was designed to stand the test of time, an inheritance to be passed from generation to generation, a symbol of stability and continuity

Overlooking a peaceful, secluded bay, the residence settles gently into the slope. Its envelope of raw stone, shaped in mineral tones drawn from the surrounding ground, gives the house a presence that is both discreet and majestic. The architecture follows the terrain, unfolding into two long linear volumes that intersect and articulate one another, forming a forked silhouette. This architectural gesture, both simple and powerful, multiplies framed views of the landscape and allows the house to live in tune with the seasons.

The Spline House does not seek to dominate its environment; it becomes part of it. Its siting, orientation, and volumetric treatment express a desire for complete integration with the site, where architecture and nature engage in a dialogue of respect and resonance. Panoramic views of the surrounding mountains open differently from one space to another, revealing a renewed landscape at every step.

Inside, the spaces are designed to encourage family gatherings, shared moments, and everyday comfort. At the heart of the house, a generous open plan connects the living room, dining area, and kitchen, creating a fluid and luminous sequence. The triangulated ceiling, evoking a wooden origami, captures and redirects daylight, casting shifting shadows throughout the day. This interplay of volumes, textures, and natural light shapes an atmosphere that is both warm and serene.

The Spline House elegantly reinterprets the aesthetic of mountain homes. Its material palette of stone, wood, steel, and glass expresses a timeless nobility, while asserting a contemporary, restrained, and controlled architectural language. Every detail, every angle, every opening speaks to a sensitive architecture, one that is deeply rooted in its territory while remaining resolutely forward-looking.

More than a residence, the Spline House is a living refuge, an inhabited work, a place of transmission and contemplation. A home that does more than shelter, it tells the story of nature, family, and the passage of time.
